It also manufactures engines for various uses such as boats or equipment for the garden or domestic use. The company is known for making vehicles that do not need continuous repairs and can be very durable. Currently, Honda manufactures 24 million engines annually (2008 data) and is a world leader in production and marketing of motorcycles, the world’s largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines and one of the 40 largest corporations worldwide (2008 Global 500 ranking of the U.S. magazine Fortune [1]). At the end of fiscal 2009 (April 2008 – March 2009), Honda posted a net profit of 964.7 million euros (137,000 million yen), despite the severe situation facing the sector.
